Dear Virginia Friend of the Second Amendment,

The anti-gun, anti-self defense crowd in Virginia is not happy with
Senator Ken Cuccinelli.

They have come up with an opponent for the mass meeting to be held
May 10th.  It will be at this meeting that the Republican nominee
will be chosen for the November election.

Sen. Cuccinelli has already distinguished himself in Richmond with
his leadership on behalf of our Second Amendment rights.  His
parliamentary maneuvers defeated efforts to kill the preemption bill
that passed in the recently-ended session.  This bill wiped away a
patchwork of anti-gun bills in various localities across the state.
Without uniformity of state law (preemption), gun owners ran the
risk of doing something legally in one place and breaking the law in
a nearby jurisdiction.

He also fought in committee to allow gun owners to legally carry a
concealed firearm in a restaurant.  Cuccinelli knows that banning
legally carried firearms in a restaurant only protects criminals,
not the good guys.  The committee is packed with all of the most
liberal Democrats, and not all of the Republicans stuck with
Cuccinelli, thus killing the measure in committee.

Former Delegate Jack Rust told a Fairfax County meeting of the
Virginia Citizen's Defense League (VCDL) that Cuccinelli's electoral
success has changed the dynamics of the General Assembly, where
being pro-gun is something that a politician can be more open about
now.  Cuccinelli had the guts to put himself on the line for us; now
we need to stick with him.

Sending Cuccinelli back to Richmond will send a needed message to
the anti-self defense crowd in Richmond.

With retirements by others this year, there is no question that Sen.
Cuccinelli is the undisputed leader on Second Amendment issues in
the Virginia State Senate.

Cuccinelli's opponent only has support from folks that do not
support Second Amendment rights, so the choice in this important
race is clear.

To all of you who get my letter, I ask that you make a contribution
to Cuccinelli for Senate.  Please do it now.  The party's nominee
will be selected May 10!

To all of you who live in or near Cuccinelli's Western Fairfax 37th
Senate District, please use the Reply Memo below to contact the
campaign about volunteering.

To those of you who are voters in the 37th Senate District, please
vote on May 10 at the Centreville High School.  Please get there by
10:30 a.m. in order to register.  Please allow some time, perhaps
two to three hours.

If you are not sure if you live in the 37th District, please check
on the web at www.sbe.state.va.us by using the "Where Do I
Vote?" link.  If you cannot access the web, please call the
Cuccinelli campaign at 703-766-0635.

Please, do everything you can to help reelect Ken Cuccinelli to the
Virginia State Senate.  Checks can be made out to "Cuccinelli for
Senate" and mailed to P.O. Box 606, Centreville, VA 20122.

You can also donate on-line at
www.cuccinelli.com/contribute.html on Cuccinelli's web site.

Your immediate support is needed so we can keep 2nd Amendment
Defender Ken Cuccinelli in the State Senate.

Sincerely,

Larry Pratt
Executive Director

P.S.  Remember that time is of the essence!  The mass meeting is
just a few days away on May 10.
