| Any ranges that rent (prob indoor given my schedule) in Bloomington/Normal Area? Will be up there in Oct and my evenings will be free (weekdays) |

TX Bob, there is two main ranges in the Blo/No Bloomington/Normal) area. C. I. Shooting Sports and Darnall's which is west of Blo/No. C.I. Shooting sports is a very nice facility that just opened a few years ago and has a good retail selection and a bunch of shooting bays.
Here's the catch with CISS, if you want to rent a gun to shoot by yourself, you have to pay $50/hr for a Range officer to babysit you. No joke. They told me its because they dont want suicides. If your with someone else, no restriction. Darnall's is more aged, and is more geared to members. You might call out there and check on their rules before driving the 15-20 min west to go there. |

At CISS you can rent a firearm as long as you have a FOID or are from out of state and you meet one of 2 conditions. You either have to have someone else with you, or you have to bring your own firearm with you. Suicide at gun ranges is a pretty serious issue and many ranges have requirements to try to limit the chance of it happening. https://www.reddit.com/r/Firearms/comments/3n89nl/i_own_a_gun_range_yesterday_a_man_committed/ |

I thought the rule was a bit odd, until the owner explained it. Suicide at gun ranges is surprisingly common. |

Thank you. TXBob, bring your own guns then if you want to shoot on the range by yourself and not incur the RSO fee. |
