I joined the GSSF program and I am trying to find the best deal on a G19, I am also looking to get my fingerprints done for the CCL and possibly teaching it if it is required to teach while working for someone. My goal is just to get people involved, I will not be instructing for the money. I live near Gat guns but they are charging to much I think.    Thank you for your help.

AIM Surplus if you can wait. If you're not registered with them already then do so, and click the email notification for the G19. You can call them or hit Bryan up over in the Industry section and they can give you lead times. Shouldn't be too long. $500 is about the best price you'll find without some sort of discount. Shipping is free too

Gat  had the G19 for around 440, is that what I can buy with the GSSF membership.  I am only interested in the glock armorer course and becoming a rifle instructor, well along with getting my fingerprints.

Huh. I didn't know about the special pricing or what GSSF was. Thought it was a range of some sorts. You learn something new everyday.

Ray O Herron in Oak Brook Terrace is a Law Enforcement blue label dealer.  You might call them to see if you can use your GSSF coupon there.  Ray O Herron in Danville will sell to non LEO but I'm not sure about the Oak Brook Terrace store, being in the Chicagoland area.

I just checked and I'm not sure if the Ray O Herron on Roosevelt Rd in Oak Brook Terrace is still open but there is a location in Downers Grove.

Thanks for the info on Ray O Herron in OBT, now that I think about it has been several years since I went to that store.

I live in Grundy County, and got my Live Scan fingerprints done at the Sheriff's office for $50.

Here is a list of Agencies that have Live Scan technology. Check with a few of the local ones near you to see if they'll do it for you.

https://www.illinois.gov/prb/Documents/lsagencies8.6.14.pdf

There is also an approved vendor list, on the ISP website in the CCL section, for private companies that do Live Scan, but the few I called were more money and less convenient.

Good move joining GSSF. You can call customer service at Glock and they'll give you a list of LE dealers/distributors so you can shop around for pistols. Personally I'd much rather buy a new LEO gun via GSSF than pay almost as much for a used 2nd or 3rd Gen gun.

If you're going to teach in Illinois you need to be a certified instructor. I can recommend highly 2 training counselors who can provide the needed NRA classes to get you there -

Rocco Wlodarek  - he's on this forum as Rockdiver

Once you're NRA certified as an instructor and have your prints and IL CCL it's simple paperwork with ISP to get listed as an IL CCL instructor.

Thank you my local pd does the prints, I am heading out tomorrow to buy a G19, and will stop in there to see what they say. I think it might be to late to call tonight.

My town only does ink prints and the electronic ones are for city employees and liquor licensees. I went to Gats today to buy a new pistol and asked them and they said 65 bucks for prints. I will keep looking around. So 2 out of 3 today isn't bad, a new G19 and I finally applied for my CCL I figured why not. but no prints. I will call the local state police that are on 31 and lake street in elgin to see if they will do it.

Yeah, funny story. I had to pay at the main office during business hours, but the actual prints were taken on the same machine they use to in-process prisoners, behind the security perimeter inside the jail.
Beyond 2 steels doors, and 2 sets of automatic bars.
Not a place I had ever been before, and hope to never be again.

They took my phone and pocket knife before I could go back.

After I paid the fee, they told me I could come in 24/7 for the prints, "subject to availability" of the machine.

When I got mine done I realized it was the first I'd been the one to request they be taken.
