Traffic can be an issue. There are several alternate routes. Would suggest a good traffic
app and play it by ear the day of the race.

I-80 to Rt 53, or I-55 to arsenal RD to Rt 53, are the two basic choices.  The first comes into the
track from the north, and the second comes in from a few miles south, but may be less jammed
up w traffic.

In case you don't have the schedule: Parking lots open at 7.  Gates and Fan Zone open at 9.  Pre-race concert at noon.  2 pm race.

My recommendation, based on what other fans have told me:  Plan to get there early.  That way if you get stuck in bad traffic, you won't be late.

Get there early and stay late, the traffic really sucks trying to get out.
I've been to some IRL races there.  Bring food to tailgate after the race.
Last time I was there grilling afterwards, the traffic in the lane behind us moved two car lengths in an hour.

Try to use the backroads to get there if you can.  The expressways will be a parking lot.
