If nothing else the number for and against become part of the record of the hearing, so it's better than nothing.

Between the Witness Slips , Calls and Emails , at the very least I think we are being Heard and Letting them know we are not laying down

My wife was one of only 4 that testified in committee Tuesday the other side had 12...It was impressive to have the Chair Lady stand up and say they couldn't read the witness slips into the record because there were 1000's and hold up a couple of reams of paper.  But, they would be entered into the record...
They haven't seen nothing yet!!!

Honestly, the act of flooding the offices and ringing the phones on these yahoos is probably usesless. They are just a bunch of lunatics, hell bent on their progressive crusade to social engineer the God-blessed traditions of traditional Americana.

To me...filling out a witness slip is like defacto gun registration.

I would rather desire to say what I want completely anonymous so I can tell them exactly what I think.

How is it any worse than having a FOID card?

When I was at the St. Clair carry meeting in O'Fallon last week, and Toad can back me up on this, the speaker from IL Carry said that the witness slips had a huge affect.

She said (in no particular order):

- The witness slips are normally read, but in our case, there was such a huge stack of them that they decided against it.  Literally thousands of them.
- Please keep filling them out as these new bills are introduced.
- Please keep calling your representatives in both houses.
- Please do not file more than one slip per bill, as it's viewed as stacking the deck, and they do track it.
- All bills, and the IL Carry position on them, can be found here:  http://www.isra.org/legislation/

+1. I know a guy who still hasn't applied for a FOID since he doesn't want to "get himself on a list".

Makes me wonder when a piece of legislation is listed under multiple committees or commitee/subcommittee about filling out slips as I did for the latest batch that are listed both as individual bills under Judiciary and as part of a batch under the Judiciary>Firearms Subcommittee listing.
