So now it's been approx 3 months since oral arguments and at least 2 states attorneys have said publicly that they will not enforce the CCW laws in this State. Does anyone have a real idea (not wild theory) of what the delay is and when we may expect a decision?

I go to This Thread over on IllinoisCarry.com every day hoping for news.

The court is STILL releasing decisions on cases from 2011.  Everyone thought the decision would be released last month.  I suspect it will be released after the election.

The real answer though is that no one knows when the decision will come out.  When it does, the 1st people analyzing it will be over in IllinoisCarry.com - folks will post info here as well of course.

Good guess - especially with how politically motivated our supposedly "neutral" court is in this worker's paradise.

It's a federal court - I don't think they're as beholden to IL / Crook County politics as most .gov posts.

I just suspect that it's a HUGE ruling and they are really making sure it's bulletproof because it's going to get appealed to the SCOTUS...

It's going to be a huge ruling in the sense that it may affirm the right of EVERYONE in the US to bear arms in public.  aka national shall-issue....

Because if a complete ban of the citizens to BEAR arms is overturned, it means it's a RIGHT that must be respected and MAY issue is going to be toast.

I think both sides are waiting to see how the November elections will play out.

Let's say Obozo is re-elected, and let's say this case does get appealed to the SCOTUS. By the time it makes it's way to the Supreme Court's calendar, that Supreme Court may be different than the one we have now.

Of course, everything could work out for the better. It's hard to predict right now.

they don't want to rule so will delay as long as possible - or so it seems to me
