| This is for the crew living near Edwardsvilles and Granite City area. What are they doing with 270 between the river and chain of rocks bridge? I looked at Idot road construction page and didn't find any info. I Drive down there everyday from shitcago and was curious. |
| It is the new canal bridge. They are building it on the north side of the existing bridge. So basically while constructing the bridge they will not affect the current traffic. The plan is one weekend shut down 270 and transfer all the road to the new bridge. It will be a 6 total lane bridge with 3 each direction. They will only open two lanes in each direction until the river bridge is redone which is slated to start when the canal bridge is done. That one will be a mess. |
