I ordered and paid for a pistol a week ago. Today I get a call that its in. I tell them Im coming to get it, they tell me no not till Saturday. WTF? Ok so they called it in today, what is the point of a FOID if you cant even use your background checked I.D. done by your own State Police. What a joke.
How about a law where if you bring a functioning pistol to the FFL that negates any cooling off period. "If I was buying it to shoot the wife I would use this one sir" FFL:"Ok then here is your weapon sir". This stupid thing is only a road block for your 2nd ammendment rights. Why should I have to give or fax a copy of my foid to just to buy ammo. If they are charging me for this I.D. they should have to have a website or 800 number for venders to verify it is current. Im so sick of IL Im selling my house at a lost if needed the day I retire. I cant wait to AMF Illinois (Adios Mother F@*%R's). What a joke the liberals have been in this state. Thanks Im vented now. |

Your fault, you should have gone in to fill out the 4473 3+ days before it was due to arrive. This is when the waiting period starts. I filled out the the form with your race and are you a criminal and a dozen or so questions, I believe thats a 4473? I think they are just being nerdy cautious. |

Maybe they're takling the ultra-conservative viewpoint that the wait doesn't start until the firearm is physically there. It sounds 'tarded six way to sunday but... their shop, their rules.
Luckily all the fun stores I've ever ordered stuff through have considered the wait to start when I provided them with a tracking number or cash. ETA - although I actually had the GM in Ken/PP make me come back a few hours later when I hadn't waited the full 24 hours for a shotgun once.
