Simple Question....
I always see these commercials and I was wondering if anyone here has experience with them? Are they really as cheap as they say? Thank you Cody |
| I stopped by once a few years ago before they got big ... they had a TON of inventory but were crazy busy! I did not have time to wait ... day before Valintines Day! So I went elsewhere ... if you go make sure you know what you want and what you are looking at! If you are buying stones make sure you look at them with a loop and ask for certificates ... I once was being hustled by a sales person trying to sell a cracked topaz till I pointed it out to the floor manager ... then I was asked to leave! LOL!!! This happened on a cruise I took a few years ago! LOL!!! |

Went there a few years ago. Poor quality stones (flaws, cloudy), high prices and sales staff everywhere probably paid largely on commission.
It was hard to look without being badgered. Look elsewhere. Many times the most advertised places are those you likely should avoid. |

I've been a jeweler for going on fourteen years and I'll give you the same advice I give my customers.
Caveat Emptor Shop around and find a jeweler that will give you an education about diamonds or whatever other gemstone you are looking for. Just like in any other business, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. |

Number one rule of ANY purchase is - 'Caveat Emptor' Diamond prices are greatly effected by minute variances, if the jeweler cannot explain the differences, provide authentication for grading - shop elsewhere. The whole grading system is designed to be as confusing as possible to consumers. Don't make a 2k mistake. |

I went to their store within the past month, and wasn't impressed... seemed a little scammy. I was shopping for diamond studs for my wife, and they had some "certified" studs on their website that seemed to be reasonable prices. I get there, and of course the certified studs were nowhere to be found... just a bunch of magazine articles taped to the display cases about how gemstone certifications are very subjective and not to be trusted. The salesman was very quick to redirect me to non-certified studs that were approximately the same as the certified price on the website.I wound up buying certified studs from a reputable internet seller for about 20% less than the Jewelry Exchange price for non-certified studs. |
