They released the cop without any charges.  Decided they got the wrong guy.  Looks like the nutjob is still on the loose.

im guessing the "worker" that got away into the feild from the first shooting fingered the LEO. we must all look alike. im suprised at the lack of outrage on this one, no one is safe from loose cannon states attorneys. not even out of work police.

The cop WAS pulled over in the area of one of the shootings in a pickup that matched the suspect's car as well as general physical description (overweight white dude).  He was armed when he was pulled over (oh noes!).

Circumstantial evidence was not in his favor.

He got busted for "driving while white and fat"  if you think about it LOL

Nice to know that's all they need-a close enough description and being in the wrong place.

Any wonder we're losing faith in the justice system? Unless you believe OJ didn't do it, I mean, and then everything's peachy.

i didnt know that. still, will county is famous for pinning a charge on innocents only later to be found not to have anything to do with the crime. hell, that coulda been me.

What ever happened to innocent until proven guilty?

Leave OJ alone.  He's still 'looking' for the real killer.

Apparently the Will County Sheriff had doubts about the guilt of the suspect.  The State's Attorney charged him with murder in a millisecond.

Will County makes Cook County look professional.  Just ask Drew Peterson (botched prosecution), Riley Fox (charged her poor father after squeezing an obviously flawed confession out of him - DNA finally proved his innocence) or Lisa Stebic.  They dragged that cop's name through the mud, the media crucified him, and whoops, never mind!  I hope that cop's lawsuit settlement is gargantuan and includes a clause that lets him spend 5 minutes alone in a room with the prosecutor.

It just makes you wonder how many times this has happened and it didn't get caught-I have to believe it's more than a few.

It was reported that some of the higher profile cases happened before elections of county LE officials.
