I need some help here... I have a potential buyer of an AR barrel in IL. I'm not familiar w/ IL laws, and I know Chicago has even stricter laws. Can I sell an AR barrel to someone in IL?

Thanks. Yes. A barrel is fine even if he lives in Chicago, as would any other part on an AR-15 other than the lower receiver or a magazine whose capacity exceeds 12 rounds. Chicago law only applies to the Chicago city limits. According to Illinois state law, NFA firearms other than AOW are not allowed. There is no statewide AWB or magazine capacity restriction. It is up to the buyer to comply with applicable laws in his jurisdiction. |

(6) Conversion kit, part or combination of parts, from which an assault weapon can be assembled if those parts are in the possession or under the control of the same person;
