Here is my situation: I live in the Northwest burbs of chicago aka Naperville

I lost my gun tools when I moved from my old house and I am leaving on vacation on friday for 3 weeks to Arizona to visit family.

I need to install a new upper on my M4A1- but I cannot get the handgaurds off and cannot get the barrel off without a vice grip (for fear of damaging it)

This might be a little out of the ordinary, but I need physical help to do so along with tools.

I can pay someone to help me install this new upper. I already have the gun completely field stripped but cannot go past that point.

I have a legit FOID card and license and w/e else and I am willing to pay someone 50 or 60 dollars.

Currently I am free wednesday before 11 or after 3 or thursday before 2 and after 6 and friday before 11 or after 3

Thanks!

What exactly are you having problems with? If you are installing an upper, all you need to do is push 2 pins out and back in.

I have the gun completely field stripped.

I cannot get the following items off:
1) handgaurd
2) barrel from upper
3) gas tube (this will come out easily after I can get the handgaurd off)

Tools that I lost during my move:
Delta ring tool, my gun vice grip

When I get those 2 parts off then I can remove the gas tube and place in the new upper and then attach the barrel with the new upper

The estimated time this installation will take with the proper tools and experience is probably under 20minutes

Thanks!

I've changed several barrels, but I don't have either a delta ring tool or a gun vise grip. I also takes me considerably longer than 20 minutes to rebarrel an upper. I'm still not sure what you are trying to do.

Basically,

I have my bushmaster M4A1 that has a handle on it.

I purchased a stripped upper flat top (pictany rail), I want to take off the older A1 handle and then put the newer upper (A3 flat top)on there.

This what a my gun looks like before the conversion

I want to keep the same barrel, lower, front sight, gas tube but just swap out the old upper for my newly purchased flat top (link below)http://www.galatiinternational.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=GIO&Product_Code=MD112

I hope this better description helps!

I have the gun completely field stripped- all thats left is my old upper with gas tube, barrel, and front sight.

Thanks!

"Changing your own AR15 barrel " is about a third way down the page.

Ryan,

I have all the tooling and have pulled/installed over two dozen barrels.  I could be free Thursday night and Naperville isn't too terribly far from where I am.  Shoot me a PM with your phone number and we'll see if we can get this done.
