Anyone seen any 5.45x39 around lately? I usually go to Megasports and I remember a few times they had 2160rd crates on the floor. My buddy picked up an AK in 5.45. I don't like AKs, but I did get a 5.45 AR upper! Anyway, we're thinking about going in together on 10k rounds. It's real cheap online, but I imagine shipping would be terrible.

I'm just SW of Joliet, so that's a little far, but I guess a Saturday trip would be OK.

Aim Surplus.  If you order 3 tins or more you get shipping for $.01.

edit:  if you order 3 at Aim it's $5 cheaper per tin and you don't pay sales tax.  I bought a bunch from RGuns in the past when it as like $115ish per tin and it was the cheapest option.  I just don't want to drive 1.5 hours 1 way.

I believe RGuns is the wholesaler of 5.45 for most of the ammon outlets in the US, could be wrong, but I've asked them before.   I'm not sure you'd get a discount on cases as they are not ones known to do much haggling, but they do have the supply and you'll walk out with it that day.  I live in your general area and it takes me about 45 minutes off the tollways to get there.  Plus, they have 5.45 mags there, too, if you need some more.  Just a little hint, they are not much for small talk.  Pretty mcuh go in there and get what you want and then leave and you won't have too many problems.  Just my $.02.  They're website is www.rguns.net if you want to check out their prices.

Yeah, that's the same price as AIM if you put it all together.  The discount would be the lack of a waiting time.
