Easiest thing would be her purse. It can be used for a weapon and a place to carry one. Flashlight, kubaton( I actually have a deer tine on my keys), brick(if the purse is big enough ), sock-of-pennys, or anything hard/heavy. Also some self-defense training would be good as well.
