Cook County ordinance says no, but there may be home rule regulations that allow the mini 14. Many municipalities have home rule that will supercede county law. I spoke to my Jewish friend who lives in Skokie. The Jewish community there has gotten smaller and those who do still live there are quite liberal-leaning. This does not trend well for a home-rule law being pro-gun. Besides, if there is a home-rule law, its almost impossible to get official notice. |

However, searches with keywords like gun, rifle, assault rifle, AR15, and AR-15 did not turn up any home rules superceding the County Law. Maybe a better keyword search might work? |
