| So i tried calling intoday to get an up date on my Foid Card, its been 5-6 weeks or so called in God knows how many times and got in 4 times and then droped each time finaly on the 5th time i get o talk to some one and he says that hell try and get tot it today. i guess well see if and when i get it . yayayayay ILL |

I called in about my renewal after 6 weeks. The person I spoke with confirmed my DOB & address.
Said he would try to get it out that day. Received the card 4 days later. Moral of the story is they are required to process within 30 days. if you call them out on it, they will move your application up in the pile. BTW, they don't seem to use the photo submitted with the form. They used my DL photo. |
Just got mine yesterday, after 58 days out...and it was a replacement not a renewal. Like yada said, I had called and bitched a week before and bingo.. The one thing that was killing me though this whole ordeal was I had a lower I bought from AIM sitting at my FFL since 1-12-09. You talk about a long wait.

Mail them in 3 months in advance folks..
You can print out the applications at the Illinois State Police website or pick them up at a currency exchange. Make sure its the new 10 year/10 dollar form that they give you. Ohh and make sure you send a money order and not a check. According to other people if you send a check they delay your FOID and wait for the check to clear the bank before processing. |
| i had given them a money order , my problem was and still might be was i moved out of ILL and they sent me a letter asking for my FOID card back and i didnt send it back, it expired in DEC when i was living in NV and when i moved back i re applied for a card, i just sent it in as a new c ard, i hope this dosnt make a difference but ill be hopeing to get mine by next Fri after talking to that Guy on the Phone todays with took about 100 calls in a row to get disconected 4 times and then the 5th was the Charm ! |
