Last fall I made a decision to "Raid" my 401K and stock up on ammo and Mags. At the Jan. Princeton Gunshow I ran across alot of the local people I know and passed deals onto them. I only made a $1 per mag and sold the ammo at cost.  I took credit on most of the orders taking weekly or every other week payments.  Alot of these people were grateful for a good deal and I received all my money.  MY THINKING.   IF things get bad, It is better to have cover fire from friends. I want people to have their own ammo and mags. People may have to band together. I live in a small town but there are lot of gun owners, Now they are fully loaded.  I hope we don't need to do this, but it is better to be prepared.

As they said during the Clinton era... it takes a village.

I salute you for your "community minded" spirit.

I you are really thinking SHTF preparedness, you need to get your whole group armor plates, kevlar, and carriers.  Molle on some TAG double mag shingles, radios, smoke, water carriers, a med kit, flashlights, batteries, watches, gloves, glow sticks, rip-stop multicam uniforms, goggles, and boots.  Then all you need is training so that people don't freeze up or sit in one position and get surrounded.  Then you are good to go.

If you want to step it up a little, carrying a sledgehammer, heavy duty lock cutters, and a fireman's axe is a good idea too.

When I was a kid I got in trouble for fighting at school.  I was just defending myself but my mom wanted to hear none of it.  She told a priest that I was fighting.  The priest, an Irishman, told me this:  "Son, when you get in a fight, hit your opponent so hard in the face that you knock him out on the first punch.  Anything else is not the Lord's work."  That has stuck with me.

Amen to that neighbor...JESUS knew his disciples carried swords and HE NEVER told them to get rid of them...there is nothing wrong with self defense.
