| Has any ones gas prices jumped huge amounts overnight? |
|
I watched it go from 3.77 to 4.99 in less than two hours yesterday. Thank heavens diesel has not shot up. For some reason diesel does not fluctuate like gas does. If diesel does I am tapping into the stash. Btw a few refineries stopped getting new crude last week just due to the price of crude dropping not nothing due to the storm... |

I'd wait until it goes back down in a week. In my truck I needed a couple gallons to get home yesterday. I'll just park it next week. The lady behind wanted to fill up. I thought to myself she should have done that a day or two ago. It was $4.13/gal. Oil prices have dropped, but the storms aren't helping gas production. |

I could be wrong, but from what I understand the Houston Ship Channel and the refineries did not suffer any damage from Ike. We are seeing short term spikes in price right now based on fears of low inventory. With crude futures currently where they are, I will guess we will see a very large drop in price in a month or so. With prices skyrocketing again, demand will curb, the fears of shortages will subside and excess inventories will be sold off, and then down comes the price. But if I really knew what the hell I was talking about, I'd be a very rich man, which I am not |
