Can anyone recommend a firearm safety course for new shooters? I have a couple of nephews that are very interested in guns and I want to take them and their father (my brother-in-law) shooting, but I want them to learn firearm safety first. I know that I could teach them, but we are very close and mess around a lot and I don't know if they would take it as serious as getting the info from an outside source. I told them I would pay for the class, and I will join them as well. Can you recommend something? I wish phorvick taught safety classes in this area, because I love his teaching style. |

Thanks for the kind words. If you can bring them to the Super 8 in Watertown, SD, I have been stuck here for the last two nights, and likely again tomorrow from the storm. I am hoping to get to my NE classes soon! As to your question, I am sure there are NRA classes in your area as well...the NRA First Steps is a nice course for a novice to start with.

If you're not too far from Lyons, IL, Midwest Sporting Goods has an assortment of new shooter classes. They offer auto pistol and revolver familiarization classes. They start very basic and stress safety and gun handling skills. The classes are taught by a very knowledgeable instructor. I've known him personally for years and learned a great deal from him. If you want more info, IM me. |
Sleepercaprice1, were you at Midwest last night? I stoped by and saw the parking lot full! Never seen that before... |
Yeah, I shoot there almost every Thursday night. |
