I'm pretty worried about the grabbers and an upcoming Bill to take away my rights. So if in fact the dems have control and Daley gets his way. Is there another way to defeat it? Perhaps require all LE to turn their duty EBR's, or attach some other language to make the bill fall apart? I keep hearing/seeing these ads scaring people and I'm about ready to blow. This shit is out of control. |

It's the people who keep voting the Dem's into power, or choosing to NOT go vote for their favorite Republican who will fight for your firearms rights, thinking that the election is "in the bag" and that "my non-vote won't matter." Or, choosing to vote for some fringe 3rd party character because they agree with you on the firearms issue but don't have a snowball's chance in hell of doing anything other than drawing necessary votes away from the GOP. Anyone who votes for anyone OTHER than JBT this election, I don't want to hear one word from you when an IL AWB happens. And though I'll still probably be able to keep mine since I'm a LEO; I will STILL go and vote tomorrow morning, because I know my vote does matter. |
I definitely agree...we need JBT in no matter whether we like it or not. I'm just looking for a plan B |
Although I disagree with much of what you said, I recognize why you believe that it must be said. No matter what, as voters, we must do what needs to be done. |
An absurd, simplistic, and inaccurate statement about Illinois politics. Need I remind you that it was democrats (southern Dems) that have defended gun rights in Illinois? Certainly not RINOs. It's irrelevant who wins the governor's mansion - Topinka would sign an AWB. She's a George Ryan / Jim Edgar RINO. I won't vote for Topinka. I won't vote for either. If Blago gets in again, big deal. He's given his best shot on gun control and failed. I'd rather the devil we know - and the opposition that is sure to increase if he gets re-elected. I'm voting for Periaca just to put en end to the criminal Stroger wanna-be dynasty of corruption. I'd vote for Roskam if I could vote in that precinct. Judging by the lawn signs, he's going to smoke Duckworth. The rest of them can go to hell. |
Agreed. There's a world of difference between the "FDR/JFK" dems south of I-80 and the Libtard Daley-ite shills from Crook County. I "crossed the lines" back in '98 to vote for Glenn Poshard, because I thought Ryan exuded slime... especially his "I ♥ Machine Guns" photo ambush he pulled on GP when he was stumping at a gun show downstate. Ryan was a fuck then, and he's a convicted shitbird now and I hope he rots in prison.
I hope Duckworth loses and moves in with Cindy Sheehan in whatever dumpster she's sleeping in these days. But I think that there's a glimmer of hope to stop an AWB if JBT wins, rather than the fading ember of a snuffed candle that's certain with Blah-go. I don't think he's given it anywhere his "best shot". I do think that he didn't want to be a 1 term governor, and an AWB would have guaranteed that. If he wins, expect to see it raise it's ugly head again, and maybe not get stomped or shuffled away to legislative limbo. |
Yup. Mandate time. |
it wouldnt come near bankrupting the state. all they have to do is build another one of those drive thru taxation points. i just love how proudly they display who is responsible for building all those great facilities. thank you rod |

I said it before and I’ll say it again. How long do you think it will take for the southern “dems” to cave and vote for an AWB? I grew up down there. Those guys are fighting for scraps. All it will take is one big pork project and they’ll stab us in the back. Believe me, most of them are dirt bags, they just happen to be pro-gun, for now. Need I remind everyone that Glen Poshard was a southern dem that caved and voted for the federal AWB. |
I am 100% against an AWB. But health care reform?? Obviously it would depend on what we are talking about here, but the number of people, and I don't mean poor inner city kids, I mean people everywhere, who are without health care and just "rolling the dice" is scary. Have you ever had a health care crisis in your family?? You speak like you don't, but I don't know. I have and it is very scary to look at someithing and realize YOU are going to pay for it. |
|
I almost puked when I saw how they worded the referendum for the AWB on the ballots.... "For the health and safety of children and the entire community, shall the State of Illinois enact a comprehensive ban on the manufacture, sale, delivery and possession of military-style assault weapons and .50 caliber rifles?" Where the fuck was the NRA on this? Why werent they passing the word on this bullshit referendum while it was being promoted all over the air waves and on the local media outlets? If they were campaigning against it, they did not do their job as their message was not to be found anywhere. What a fuckin turd. But it will pass |
Hmmm I heard about that on the referendum although thats disgusting the way it was worded. It was also absent on my ballot. Was it only in certain districts? |
What southern politician would vote for a bill that will put thousands of their constituents out of business? It's political suicide. |
It is identical to what Blagojevich wants to put into law state wide, and he was just named the winner by the AP by landslide victory, five minutes after the polls closed. He is backed on this by the likes of Daley, Durbin, and Obama who own the vast majority of the votes in this state |
This question is intended to have you look inward. Yes...you can keep yours, because you are LEO... Because THEY say you can. What happens when THEY tell you to come and take mine because THEY say I can't have one? |
Let's not go there.... As an LEO I wont be guaranteed the ability to keep my personally owned rifles either. The city of Chicago has an AWB on the books, and when it was enacted, all officers in the CPD had to surrender their "assault rifles" to the department. Thats right, NO personally owned "assault weapons" for any Chicago police officers, or any LEO's living in the city limits. If this AWB is enacted, I WILL NOT enforce it. Let's not turn this in to the typical "us vs. them" AR15.com retard thread. It does not help resolve the issue. There are plenty of those fucking threads floating around here, go find one to post this type of bullshit in. |
|
replying to no one in particular... a question... so if an AWB is signed into law state-wide, do y'all think it would entail a mandatory surrendering of AWBs (sic) acquired since the sunset of the federal AWB or would those guns be grandfathered? i'm just about to buy my first AR and this affects my decision... a little... i live in the country, so i'm not TOO concerned about having one if there's a ban, but i'm a little concerned... what are your thoughts? |
Yeah, what a terrifying thought, you have to pay your own bills. Don't like the high cost of health care? DEMAND that medical lawsuits be banned DEMAND that illegals DO NOT get free health care. Did you know Hispanics are the least compliant ethnic group when it comes to paying medical bills, followed second by Blacks. Free health care isn't possible and it isn't American. |
| IT IS DESCRIBED AS A"non-binding advisory referendum" it aint worth the paper its written on,in my opinion. we gotta see this .the NRA will be all over this.gun bans hav to pass house and senate downstate.they fail every time, pass one or the other,go to rules, fail due to lack of support .ONLY IN COOK CAN THIS PIG FLY! |
Cook County already has a AWB on the books. So why bother putting this referendum on the ballot? Because Blagojevich knows that Cook is where the votes are, and will use this "opinion poll" which passed by 85% to his advantage to push his State wide AWB, which just happens to be worded identically to the "opinion poll" referendum on my ballot yesterday. Coincidence? I dont think so.... |
Thanks for the insult about trying to turn this thread into something retarded. I asked a legit question. Actually I was not asking you. At any rate you state YOU will not enforce the ban. Great. How about the other 13,000 Chicago cops? How 'bout the officers on the gun teams. The CAGE unit? Who will reel them in when they become Incorporated into the game? I live in Chicago....I read the paper. The Sun-Times CUMS over a good gun story! How about the north side fireman in Chicago who was "raided" by the Area 2 gun team on the basis of a fucking anonymous tip! They took his collection! 60 guns!!!! Remember the "sten" gun made by the Germans? Think B4 you post. I did not mean any harm or intend to hurl any insult. All of this prep work BY THE POLICITANS WILL lead to BANS and SEIZURES. I want to keep what I have as much as you want to keep what you have. You get paid to carry a gun. I get paid to put fires out. The same guy signs our checks.................... |
I apologize if my post offended you, it was not meant to. I am as sick over this ploy as anyone. I meant to try and keep this thread on point, due to threads like these usually turning into all cop bashing festivals and getting locked, and like I said, it doesnt help any situation once it gets to that point. I agree with your views on the CPD gun teams. They always seem to be raiding the gun collectors homes, and not the street thugs who like to kill each other over stupid shit with the usual Raven arms or Hipoint pistols. I do not work for Chicago, but I grew up there, and would like to see it turn around, but with the current state of affairs in the City of Chicago and Cook county, I dont think it ever will, and will only get much worse.... Indiana looks more and more inviting to me every day. |
Hey, know what a Cop and Fireman have in common? They both want to be a Fireman |
