It's not a bad show. Plus it's the nearest one around depending on where you live. It has all the usual gun show crap(IMO) you know the chinese throwing stars, the miracle polish etc. but other than that I've seen some real goodies there. I even picked up my first AR there.

Is there any reason it's not listed on the thread tacked at the top of this forum?

Because the show was added after the list was put at the top of the forum.  The new 2006 list will be put up in the next week or two.

Can I get to the fairground from 88 or 294?

To get there by taking 88 west, get off at route 31, heading north. Turn left on Mooseheart (there is a foot ball stadium right there). Then turn north on to Randall (it is the first light). Follow that for a few miles and the show will be not to far from North Ave. on the left side of the road.

To get there from 294, depending on where you start it may be faster to follow that to 88 if you are coming from the south. Or if you are north of I90 you could take that to Randall road south to the gun show. North Avenue is a good way to get there if you are in the middle.

I was there kind of sucked alot of empty tables and almost no ammo. RB had some nice uppers for a real good price if they would have been chrome lined I would have bought two.

No such thing in N. IL my friend, this is the 'best' one there is.  Dupage is smaller, but the selection of milsurp weapons and gear seems to be a bit better.

My theory on why this one wasn't that great was that they managed to stack Kankakee and CADA in the same day (ok may be CADA didn't hurt it that much). I picked up a few things to embelish my plinking upper and found a deal on SKS stripper clips. The guys with the cheap Wolf weren't there or left early. The thing that killed me was the B&H table. The guy had a whole line of K frames at reasonable prices. There was a model 19 that some middle aged moron was handling and managed to do his best Vin Wiesel/XXX impression with. The B&H guy was far more civil than I would have been at that point, ripping the gun out of his hands and telling him in a stern but calm voice "Your done, you do not slap cylinders closed like that." Oh well, the gun already had a "as is" tag on it and was selling for far less than I would expect. He also had  6" and 2.5" model 66's that I would have bought at least one of had I not picked up a model 28 the day before.

I would normally hope that next month would be better but some how Kankakee, Kane, and Lakemoor are all happening on the same day along with two down state shows. It looks like February is the month to go back.
