Was suppose to go today, but the owner of the Tacical RV was unable, and I'm under the weather.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIG!!

Will definitely try to make it one more time though before the big freeze.

Looks like i'll be there(Buffalo) Fri. the 25th. Rain or shine , cold or real damn cold. Gotsa break in the OLY.

BTW... anyone have any words of advice reguarding cold weather shooting? Anything I should be aware of  as far as effects of cold weather on my AR?

Don't be surprised if you might get a short-stroking problem.

My brother's 20" Bushy has always run well, but we went shooting at our farm one day last week when it was cold, and it turned into a funky single-shot rifle. It just wouldn't function and it had run well in the couple weeks before that.

I'm thinking you shouldn't have a problem with yours because the carbine gas system runs at such higher pressures, it should have enough pressure to overcome the cold.

Was it clean and/or well lubed?

I am interested to see how my RRA reacts to the cold.

CLP is all I am using on my AR.  I use FP-10 on my pistols and I like the way it smells. When fondling my pistols after cleaning they smell sooo good......wait, did I type that out loud?

It doesn't get shot much (he's an AK guy) but it is ususlly clean. He started having problems with one mag while I was shooting my M4gery (no problems with funtioning at all with it) so I let him use the mag I had. It was still having problems, so we took it in and cleaned it well. Brought it back outside and it was still doing it so I just figured it was the cold weather (this rifle hasn't had hardly any problems in the 5 years we've had it, but it hasn't been shot much in the winter, come to think of it).

My mid-length and M4gery have worked well down to 15-20 degrees so far. I haven't had my 20" rifles out in the winter yet to check functioning, the carbines are more fun
