It dose not matter what happened. we are past that now. What matters is what we do next. We need to plan and fight. We need to figure out how to use there tactics against them. CA gun owners did nothing and that's what they got. We need to stop worrying and start to come together and figure out what we can do. The fight is in front of us. Take a shower get some rest, we only have until next session (may 2nd I think) to figure out what to do. Lets look at there play book and use what worked for them and use it.  I'm ready, I just don't know what to do YET

Whatever defense we mount has to incorporate social media, hashtags campaigns, and appeal to emotion based arguments. It sounds dumb from our traditional POVs, but this is the thinking that many of the CA transplants respond to.. facts, logic, and history don't mean anything to them. Hell, had the GOP here ran on that we might've stood a fighting chance.

The problem I see with 2A rights in NV is organization.. there seems to be no one org capable of putting it together. The NRA? Hah.

This is all the organized effort we really have in Nevada, NV NRA affiliate.
NRA main lobbying effort is headquartered in Sacramento, at least NVFAC is located here and able to be reached.
They generally have a presence at the larger gun shows and usually have a fund raising firearm raffle going.
I donated one of my Novem 9mm conversions a couple of years ago.
Raffle rules were written by casino lobbyist, so really cripple their fund raising use.

My observation is that NVFAC are a small staff overly reliant on a money hungry professional PR outfit in Reno.
Local volunteers north and south might make them more effective, responsive, better informed, and less reliant on the PR company?
With the next session of the legislature convening the first Monday of February 2019 the time to organize ourselves is ASAP!

At least the socialist did not get a supermajority, as long as none of the R's betray us.
Article here, (Left cold) https://www.reviewjournal.com/news/politics-and-government/nevada/28-votes-keep-democrats-from-supermajority-in-nevada-legislature-1521833/amp/

Also along that line it should be noted that "Bill Draft Request" are ALREADY being submitted for the 2019 session!
https://www.reviewjournal.com/news/politics-and-government/clark-county/clark-county-sets-bill-requests-for-2019-nevada-legislature/

One thing that has not come up in this thread so far that I know the socialist are drooling over is ANNUAL and LONGER SESSIONS! (And of course, moving the capitol to LV, as if they do not have enough advantage already!)
Even Kalifornia did not go full retard until they began having annual sessions.
Annual sessions HAVE to be avoided, the legislature gets too many chances to do us damage as is, annual (And longer!) sessions will accelerate the rot at a rate the WILL turn us into a complete mirror of Kalifornia in no time!

I was the 2nd. district NRA-ILA EVC for a few years, so I think I may some insight into NRA and how well they work for us in Nevada.
One of my pet peeves is candidates who are too dumb to accept NRA volunteer help, maybe some of our recent losers might have done better if they had accepted some of that help?

OK, this is turning into a rant, I will be back later.

Continuing on.

The dead pimp beat the socialist by about two to one.
If he was on the ballot in your county NOW is the time to contact your local R county commissioners to demand that they select a real pro-RKBA, pro-Constitution person to take his place.
They have to select an R by state law, WE need to be certain they do not select a RINO!

I am not talking about trying to change there minds. There agenda is about control and facts just get in there way. I get that, I think we all do. I am thinking that we need to look at how they act when they loose power. I hate to say it, but they are just as effective when they are in our position as there when they are in power. One of the things they do is organize and get a single message. They polish and hone that message, make sure it's perfect and doesn't sound crazy or outrageous. They tweak it to make sure it sounds good to the masses and stick to it. We have a serious problem organizing and sticking together, especially in the long run. We need to create a local fighting force like they would. Made up of lawyers, investigators and lobbyist.

We need to show our brothers in other state's how to fight. This is coming to other states. Looking at you AZ. WE ARE NEVADANS we need to fight this hard, we need to take a serious look at what they do to win when they have lost. They do ugly thing's that are not in our character, But it's time to do these things. It's time we all put some time aside everyday to do something, it's time to give cash and create a local/state organization that will be our polished perfectly honed message.

One of there best weapons they use is to always be on the attack. Look at every interview/debate or speech. They are always on the attack, and we are always on the deference. Even when we challenge them, they deflect and attack again. They never really defend there position. Instead they attack yours keeping you defending yours. A famous quote "Nobody ever defended anything successfully, there is only attack and attack and attack some more." - George S. Patton. They have used this to perfection.

I'm ready to do what ever it takes to ensure my freedom. I'm willing to stand and say NO. I am willing to commit time money and whatever it takes. I am just a working man and everything I have I have earned. I'm not going to give up freedom. I will not be a slave or some worker bee just surviving to serve the mentally weak.

It's time we show others how to fight this shit, how to fight and how to win. It's time to put the antis on the defensive. It's time to quit blaming and bitching. it's time to get serious and take responsibility for our freedom and rights. It's time
TLDR notes When they are out of power they are more effective and dangerous. What are they doing that we need to start doing.

Maybe we can change the narrative. Turn the gun control into fixing the mental health system in NV. Go after the business and unions that backed the dems. Start a potion to increase taxes on them to pay for it. This is where we need a lawyer or someone that knows how to word something like this and how to get the ball rolling. It's just an idea, but start thinking how to turn this on them. Quit being a defeatist and turn this into an energizing thing that gets minds thinking and the fight going. What would they do? They sure the fuck wouldn't give up. They have gotten everything they wanted on there agenda except gun control.

Sec: 10.  Right to assemble and to petition.  The people shall have the right freely to assemble together to consult for the common good, to instruct their representatives and to petition the Legislature for redress of Grievances.

Sec. 11.  Right to keep and bear arms; civil power supreme.

1.  Every citizen has the right to keep and bear arms for security and defense, for lawful hunting and recreational use and for other lawful purposes.

The second they pass any ban we need to be on the phones, in there offices and have our lawyers filing lawsuits. We need to be a force not a group, we need to learn how to fight them and beat them. I'm sick of loosing and just taking it.
We need a Nevada defense organization, It needs to be local and accountable, it needs to be what we wanted the NRA to be. It's time we stop talking and start acting. I don't know how to do these things, but I'm going to figure it out or do everything I can to help those who do.

Amazing the same people who literally *hate* Trump vote en masse for the same corrupt political machine that locked out Sanders delegates during the state convention, thus ensuring a Trump win. Whatever. It was never about good policy or charting a positive course for all Nevadans. Over the past few years the formerly amiable and effective political scene here has become more vile, tribal partisans with contempt for the tradition of mutual respect and people with whom they disagree. Its heartbreaking really, it was a cultural aspect  of respect that brought me here 20 years ago.

I guess I am an example of the amphibian in the slowly heating pot of water....I knew it was coming but sort of stuck my head in the sand. Not anymore. I thought of leaving, going home and living in the beach, or finding a place I'd be more welcome....nah, I love Nevada, I will give no quarter.

#resist. I thought it was silly, now I get it. Anyway, thanks for the sounding board.
