I've got a friend with a Glock 27 in .40 S&W.  I'm looking on Gunborker and see them advertised as either Gen 3 or Gen 4.  What's the difference and how do I tell which one this gun is?

im not a glock aficionado  but my gen 4 17 says on the slide "Gen4".  I think all gen4's do.
the mag release is diff/ recoil spring and gen 4 accepts palm swell add ons too

Easiest way to tell is the mag release, imo.

Easiest way to tell, and it's right there in the pics, is the grip texture

Also a good way, but I've had people confuse RTF2's with Gen4s because its not the typical gen3 grip texture.

Also, gen 4's come with 3 mags, Gen3's only came with 2.
