| Keep an eye on what's happening in New York. Trying to pass a 7 round max. Looks like for ALL guns. Hoping common sense will prevail, but not counting on it. |

I'm guessing... 1. standard capacity of a 1911 = 7 rounds 2. Kimber makes 1911s. 3. Kimber is located in NY. 4. NY doesn't want another business (tax source) leaving NY. Remington/Bushmaster/DPMS is out of New York too. Currently... Remington HQ is in NC. old plant in NY. new plant in KY (where everything will eventually be moved to, once the old plant is closed) Bushmaster is in NC. DPMS is in MN. Marlin is in NC. |

The next post I want to see is, "Remington/Bushmaster/DPMS have moved all operations out of New York!"
Why the Fuck are they still there? Is it some sort of twisted macho thing to continue accepting that sort of never ending abuse? "Tis but a scratch!"
---------- Edit. OK which is it, token presence in NY or lots? Any firearms related business remaining there needs to Get The Fuck Out! Take the jobs and tax revenue away from those sedition loving azz-bites! |

Saw where this goes with the Kali. ban.
Going to be a LOT of guns suddenly for sale before the registration kicks in and makes it a major hassle. More will dribble out for several years as folk die and heirs decide to get what they can from out of state. More as holdouts decide to finally give in and dispose of their guns for any of several possible reasons. Of course this assumes that NY does not become the model for the rest of the nation. |

Online sales to NY BANNED from what I read. It will make getting guns in to NY damn near impossible. Either you have to buy it at a gun store out of state and have it transfered or find a shop that hasn't heard of any website board that sells guns. They also made the same 2 evil feature thing as CA but they call it 1 + pistol grip. |
For New York, ten round magazines can be kept but must not be loaded to more than seven rounds. New York residents have one year to get rid of magazines over ten rounds. There is an exemption in the new law for magazines over fifty years old. For the M14, there are some that were made over fifty years ago. I'm being asked by another discussion board which M14 magazines were made prior to January 1963. I can tell the difference but don't know if the State of New York will go with, "If Different says it's over fifty years old, it's okay then."
