It passed the senate judiciary, but still needs a floor vote (the latest status that I have seen, is there an update I missed?). The NRA opposition was to the previous revision, in which fees were specified very vaguely; NRA supports the bill as it is currently written (there is an NRA letter of support listed on NELIS).
