Thanks Again for the support.
I am currently working to put together a small organization to help raise the money needed for the next campaign. It wont be a whole lot different than the first. Lots of door to door and direct marketing. Mailers and door hangers and such. If you would like to help with planning and fund raising PM me. I will be correcting the web site this weekend. Thanks Again Tony Wright State Senate 7 |
| I checked out your website. I do agree with most of you are saying. Please explain this statement to me though - "Unions have said that cutting personnel will lengthen response times and that may be true, but that’s fear mongering pure and simple." Is this directed at police and fire response or something else? |
|
it may be true that when cuts are implemented that response times will be lengthened. I have no information on how much they will be lengthened, if at all. I expect the emergency response times to be as close as they are now. That's what happened in California as I recall. Some non emergency priorities will most likely transform, but we already have many of those things here already. Like beer cards in the convenience stores. The cops don't want to roll out on a beer theft so the retailer fills out he card.
The inference in the union position, is that it will take for ever to get a response in an emergency situation. And that would not be allowed by The People. |

And that would not be allowed by The People. I think the more likely result is that, like firefighters, officers will be asked to work increasing overtime and even double-time to cover any shortfall. This ends ends up costing significantly more, than having the appropriate level of staffing. Ten police officers working 80 hours per week costs 50% more than twenty police officers working only 40 hours per week. Worse still, is the wasted time and finances from putting an officer through the police academy, or a fire fighter through their training. |

Congrats!!!
