got my sample ballot today. we've (clark county) got the retarded primary where unless you're an (r) or (d) you have no say in those races. i'm still glad i jumped ship.
at least they've got their shit together with respect to early voting.

I'm not sure I understand why you think it's retarded. By my way of thinking, If you're not a member of a party, why SHOULD you have a say in who wins that party's nomination?
In the past few years I've been as disgusted with the Republican party as anybody. But that just caused me to work to try and steer the party back toward its conservative roots. Come the general election I'm going to vote for whoever I agree with most, regardless of party affiliation. But in the primary I'm going to continue to support the most conservative candidate I can find to try and get the Republican party back on track. Or at least where I think it should be. |

But the general election doesn't decide who represents a specific party. The general election decides who represents the entire state.
You a member of any clubs in town? Shooting or otherwise? If I, as a non-member of your club, tried to vote for the officers in your club I'd get thrown out on my ass. This is the same thing, just on a much larger scale. Bah, not worth fighting over. I'm pretty sure you and I are still on the same side of the important issues. |
