Hey all.....I have a couple of questions that I haven't been able to figure out on my own via the web.

In California, to obtain work as a private security guard you have to take a class and get a guard registration card from the state.  There are additional classes and permits needed to carry a firearm, OC, baton, Taser, etc.  What are Nevada's requirements?  Any additional permits or certifications required to carry a firearm, or less lethal (baton, OC, Taser, etc.)?

Also.....do you have to be a NV resident to obtain these permits?

Thanks in advance for any info.  You guys are always a big help for any NV related info I need.

Yes but I'm not well versed in the requirements..... if you here in the Clark County area, you can contact The Gun Store which hold the security guard classes for the State of NV. PI card.

Hope this helps.....

There is a class and it includes the firearm qual.  A white card is issued by caliber not weapon type so you can use any weapon of that caliber.  We had to take separate classes for oc/baton but that was a USAF requirement not NV.
