Yes, I highly recommend Edgewater Pools.  Local guys, good product they get done on time when they say they will.  I had mine put in 2 years ago and its AWESOME.  Great c/s too, they took care of some minor issues very fast and with no hassle.  I refered them to my next door neighboor who just had one finished in Oct and he is VERY happy with it.

PM me your contact info and I'll forward it to the owner.

Thanks Joe, will keep that in mind.

The only guy in town I'd refer anyone to is Eric with Everclear Pools. His # is 649-6000. Every pool is a custom one and he doesn't get stuck in the rut of white plaster with boring blue tile and tan deck...his pools look like they cost a million bucks. I have a few of them on my route and they are all stunning.

We've just gone through all the planning/design/quote process, and I have to tell you that Edgewater (Dan) was the worst of the bunch. In fact, he showed up 25 minutes late to our appointment, walked right by me without so much as shaking my hand, and then dropped off the face of the earth. He obviously didn't want our business, and we're getting our $60K pool with a better builder, who has better warranties anyway.

I'll send an IM with the two salespeople we worked with the most.

eta:  Your IMs are turned off.  I'll IM you the info if you turn them back on.

Nope, not ever deployed to the LRE (many, many other deployments in a previous airframe tho).  Are you there now?

Mmmm, surprising - My experience as well as my neighbor was just the opposite.

We went with Blue Haven at our old house and our old neighbor back there did the same within months.  We really liked the quality of equipment and the warranty.  I've had a couple of relatively minor issues over 5 years, including a part in the pump motor that just went bad recently.  Blue Haven came out and fixed the motor free of charge even though the warranty on the motor itself expired like a year and a half ago.

I'd recommend them as they've been around for decades and continue to be in biz.

I was surprised as well, considering the reviews I'd heard/read.  So should I take it personally?

Regardless, he completely lost any hope of making a sale to us....   <shrug>

We are very happy with our Desert Springs pool/spa/fire pit. We got to help with the design, they made sure we were completely satisfied with it at every step, and they followed up a few times after completion. We didn't get that with our last pool (that company [tango] now out of business).
Here's a tip that might work for you: Each day during construction bring out cold drinks in an ice chest. Every other day or so I'd set up the BBQ and feed each crew. They really appreciate the interaction, I learned some things, and we ended up with a -lot- of extra touches on our build.
3 years later, all is good. The main pump burned out a few months ago (both intakes blocked and it ran dry for a long time I think- totally my fault), and they replaced it with no questions asked.
Desert Springs, hands down.

A couple of people were trying to talk me into it but didn't want it, too much unknown about the system.

What's up with these varable pumps that are suppose to save on the electric bills?

Also the ozone filtration systems?

Ozone systems do one thing, it makes sure the builder can make another payment on his Porsche.

The new variable speed low energy pumps are good, the Hayward is shit but the Sta-Rite is good.

Most extras on pools are just a money maker for the builder, they don't make a killing on just a basic pool. The remote control computer systems are a waste on money in my opinion, the standard timeclock will last decades then cost $35 to put a new one in. Salt Systems are retarded and fall apart after one year. One thing I never understood is alot of jackasses think they are "allergic" to chlorine and get the salt system....the cell is a chlorine generator...so it um...generates...uh...CHLORINE. I've had a few people tell me they can't stand chlorine, it makes them break out, it makes them go to the hospital, all kinds of stupid shit. So when they ask I put bromine in the pool and I agree then tell them the chlorine tabs are bromine they don't have any reaction other than to tell me it feels great.

Thanks for all the help. My last pool was a basic system pool and didn't have any problems with it and was planning the samething this time. I don't need bells and whistles in a pool system.
