Somewhere near Grand Canyon and Sunset. I started to hear the bull horn at 6am, it's now 6:50. I can't really make out what is be said except barking german shepards and "hands in the air". I hear more sirens now. Time to go walk the dog.

Well, it ended peacefully, so it definitely won't be on the news. I made it in time to witness a suspect taken into custody by a metro officer in the olive green combat uniform with what looked like a tactical 870. About 6 black and whites surrounded a home on Gray Rivers Ct.  Good job Metro!

Unfortunately, the citizens never hear about the tons of things that could go wrong that Metro end's peacefully. They just hear about the shootings.

So that means Metro isn't as trigger happy as some might think huh.

It probably happens a 75 times a day....but no news coverage on those.  What would they say?  Good job Police?  No way that wont sell newspapers or boost ratings.  They shouldnt even call it the news anymore.  They should call it "Local Entertainment", or" Local Scary Stuff to boost ratings"

I appreciate the discreet but direct reference to another thread in the NVHTF.

Consider there are around 4000 events created each day. Sure, some are just reports at the substation or broadcasts, but the number of officer contacts is quite high.

There is also probably AT LEAST 2-3 times a week where a situation happens in which deadly force would be justified where it is not used.

No doubt.  I don't recall many Metro OIS this year either.
