Take US Highway 93 south out of Las Vegas.  Make a right at Boulder City to continue south on 93.  Stay on 93 passing through Searchlight.  Make a left at Nevada 163.  That's about seventeen miles into Laughlin.  Cross the bridge into Arizona.  As soon as you cross the bridge, make a right at the light.  You're on Arizona State Route 95.  Stay on Arizona 95 headed south.  Just before Needles, CA, make a left to stay on Arizona 95.  Continue on Arizona 95.  You'll make another left to head east on AZ95/I-40 for awhile.  Then take the exit to head south again on Arizona 95 all the way to Lake Havasu City.

I don't have the link handy right now but 1986 GOPA trumps California law.  You can transport your prohibited weapons through California if you are traveling interstate.  A few minutes on Google should give you the details and hard copy.  FYI

Whatever

Either I'm right or I'm wrong.  There's no "theory" involved.
