This has been going on for years

I feel bad for the people who bought the lifetime memberships

They had different levels of membership. If I remember correctly this is all started with the "planned community". It has been a while but I seem to remember they pre sold a bunch of homes and property and never delivered.

I think Piazza bit off more than he could chew with the planned community, but if Front Sight goes down, it's a loss for us and a win for the anti-gun ACORNholes who want to do away with the 2A.

I was out there last month. I have mixed feelings about the training there, but there had to be 1200-1500 people attending classes.
Let's just say I didn't see a single Obama bumper sticker in the parking lot.

I get the feeling that Front Sight would be much better of they would just jettison Piazza and put someone sane in charge. Everything I've ever heard about the place is positive, but then I get another "HAY GUYZ I'VE GOT A SUPAR EXCLUSIVE FORECLOSED FIRST LIBERTY FREEDOM PATRIOT MEMBERSHIP PACKAGE TO PRACTICALLY GIVE AWAY, ACT NOW, ONLY $1,000,000,000 AND YOU GET A FREE GUN!" email in my inbox and I'm reminded why I've never used my free course certificate. Do they REALLY need to have such an infomercial, used-car-salesman approach to marketing the place?

Sounds like Piazza's nauseating business practices have finally caught up with him.

I am on that page.....why the hell can't he just offer the courses for a decent price right up front.  He over inflates the price then chops the price by 80% so that......" there is no possible way a sane gun owner can pass up this offer"......what a joke.  I would be much more likely to attend if he just offered a fair price to begin with.

I have read about this several times over the years and some of it is still very unclear. Part of it was they didn’t like Piazza’s alleged religion – Scientology.

On the surface, it sounds like a McDonalds - I spilled my coffee deal.

The case was tried in the Bay Area. No gun bias there.

Give them their money back with interest and push on.

My boss has taken a couple classes there and loves it.

But I agree, the emails don't seem to jive with the image the place appears to have (professional quality training).

I am not up to speed on my bankruptcy lingo

What does that mean
5/19/2009 4:24:13 PM EDT

It was not a bankruptcy.  There was a court appointed receiver put in place––the receiver basically takes over the management of the company.  But, then the court ended the receivership, so that should put the company back in its owner's hands to control.

Whether it's A OK, hard to say.  The lawsuit is still going on from what I could tell from the 2 links provided, and I haven't looked for any other info.

It seems weird that they would remove the receiver after only a week. My uncle does a lot of receivership work, and I know that it typically lasts longer than a week. Anyone know any specifics or other details?
