I am lost at what you are saying.
CA has it listed with with less attention than us at 7 posts - 213 views with us at 25 posts - 370 views. If you are talking about concern, I think NV is showing more than CA. On the General board 368 posts - 13357 views. It is a sad issue, but I am lost what you are getting at. I know for one, I appreciate this forum as a venue to decompress. Aside from sucking at typing, I'd rather cross talk face to face (maybe over a beer or dinner). Furthermore, if I want to express my anger or commit emotions, I would go to a different forum such as "coast to coast" to vent. The internet if full of horrible crap if I want to see the nations tragedies unfold before my eyes. I am not making light of an unfortunate incident, but the country going to hell in a hand basket is evident with the "change" we all as a majority desired. That is how I see it, larger scale. Roy Guys, I was just making a statement about what is important regarding the slain officers and the NVHTF thread about the dinner. No offense to anyone at all. I love Variable like family. He has always been a good friend and I would never insult him. I am just soooo floored by these officers (four, FUCKING FOUR!) being gunned down on our streets and I have not yet gotten a grip on that yet. Maybe I am taking it too personal. Sorry if my emotions got the best of me. RIP Brave Brothers...

Roy Joe, I understand where you are coming from with the tragedy that happened in Oakland. I have lived in Alameda (right next to Oakland) for several years while stationed there in the Navy. Oakland is not a good town at all and I am surprised it has not happened more often. I do feel for the family members of the lost Police Officers (my father is a retired Cop) so I know what they go through day in and day out. With that being said each forum is what it is, a place to talk on various topics and there seems to be allot of interests to get people together and finally put a face to the screen name. Which I hope to meet you soon also. Roy and all, We (Variable, Quido and myself) are not trying to take away from or change the gathering that is being originally being planned, the three of us are returning from either Iraq or Afghanistan and want to meet eachother over a few drinks. Now anyone else is welcome for a few drinks but I am also willing to do the dinner thing being planned. Wally |

I think it probably has to do with the fact that the majority of the people that frequent the NV board are good people and are equally upset. I am sure that most would happily donate a bullet for the cause. We all get hurt when unspeakable acts happen. Those in law enforcement got kicked pretty good with this one. I truly believe it is not that we dont care, it is that words fail to really describe the sorrow and hate. We are surrounded by friends here. From my interactions with the few I have met I know I am in good company. Cheers

Oakland is a big mess, sorry to hear about the officers there but there is no way that government polices are not to blame.
Common sense left California a long time ago, and things will get worse. The freedoms we enjoy are eroding and those in California are nearly gone. With the government trying to be all things to every minority and special interest the tax payers ( the people who actually pay taxes) are getting screwed and we have no recourse except revolt. It does not need to be violent, but it needs to happen. That's enough for now. |

No offense here folks, I cannot understand why, at the time of my posting here, the local "NVHTF Dinner" thread has 10 more replies and 102 more reads than the "4 Oakland Police officers KIA" thread. because there's no coverage on the TV and radio about a bunch of friendly gun owners having dinner. and the sad story of the 4 KIA has been all over the news. they shoud've kept the shooter locked up instead of releasing him on parole.
