Well, being that from March 1st till the middle of the month, all the agencies will be doing fuck-fuck patrols, I figured I would start a thread so that those of us who have any information on where the speed enforcement patrols like to do their thing can give the rest of us a heads up. Where I have noticed:

1) Southbound on Wells Ave., right as you come down the bottom of the brigde they wait behind the market on Kunezli St. Hard as hell to see them, but they nail you as you are descending that bridge.

2) Plumb Lane between Virginia St. and Kietzke. Most of the people I have seen pulled over have been in that area, esp. by The Gun Trader and by Longs Drugs (now closed). They like to hide by the Laub and Laub building.

3) The Ol' Favorite...Eastbound on I-80 right after Gold Ranch Casino as you enter the outskirts of Reno. This is where they nail the shit out of the unsuspectiing California drivers coming to visit.

4) I-80 in the Robb Drive area. Most of the time they sit under the bridge, facing either way with their light off. This spot is about 2 miles or so after the Gold Ranch hotspot.

Any other N/NV members know of any other speed traps?

I just downloaded the trapster application for my IPhone. I believe they also have a website where you can find traps around town.

OCCASIONALLY I see them down Pyramid highway past the Walmart.  Usually between 5:30 and 8am and probably 2:30 and 5 pm.  If you ever drove out here around that time you would think people get pulled over for speeding every day.  I've seen maybe two cars pulled over in the area since December.

Would that application work for the LG Dare?

The cool thing about the application is that it uses your gps location and will sound off if you're close to a trap.

Oh this is easy.

Old 395 aka N. Virginia by that bar that used to open on the right hand side.  Before Bonanza right after the baseball field and graveyard.  They hang out right behind the sign that says for sale.

4th st heading west past keitzke.  They will hang out there, speed limit is 35 coming off a 45mph if you are heading east.  They would get people constantly there.

Frankly, if you speed you deserve the ticket.  Haha.

Maybe, if the speed limit is not artificially low in order to promote revenue gathering via speeding ticket.
If you speed on city streets I probably have little sympathy.

But on the open roads between towns, I want the old unlimited Nevada speed law back, the one the Fed took from us via black-mail.

I've been seeing them very frequently on 395 south, south Virgina street exit, the one before south meadows exit
He hides on the Virgina street onramp

There is a bike cop that likes to hang out by the Barnes and Noble warehouse on the freeway.  If you see him ONCE you know he's got about half a mile to hit you with his radar.  It's really easy to ignore he's there but it's so obvious when you see him.  He sits on the right hand side of the freeway as you head South.  Just a little black dot.

Set that cruise control on the freeway south of Neil road....

Yup, saw him today. As you get off Virginia by the Allison dealer. Parks in the middle of the road, hard as hell to see.

Can't really get over the limit from the exit, but if your coming south on Virginia by the In-n-Out and speeding, he has you.

If you are worried about the speed cops, they have signs up and down the road telling you exactly what to do to avoid any problems.

The problem I have is when they selectively enforce the law.
