Seeing as the thread from the other day is already buried somewhere....just letting all of you know that I have some very good/specific/useful information and ideas on this subject that work!!!!
I'd be glad to share what I know with anyone who is interested...PM me for more info- I hesitate to post it publicly (and I don't want to bash any of the major corporations here), but would be more than happy to throw my knowledge your way regarding effective home security systems to anyone on this board...I know what works and what doesn't, and could save you guys big bucks (and no, I'm not charging or looking to make a profit off this....just an offer to share what I know). Besides my "other life" as profmike, I have over 25 years in the home security industry & hold a level 2A certification from the National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association. Free info for the asking, just for the heck of it to anyone interested
