Hi guys,

going to Vegas in Jan to help my cousin (who lives in Las Vegas) get a new evil black rifle. He is partial to the MSAR so I have been looking into online deals for him for the best price.

Also, is there a waiting period?

How do out of state transfers work in vegas (fees, is there tax on purchases, will they accept from non-ffl, any other odd regs?) and who has the best transfer prices?

Thanks in advance.

Since, you are a CA resident, you can not legally take possession of any firearm you purchase while in NV.

The FFL dealer you buy a firearm from will send it to a FFL dealer in the state where you reside. The shipping FFL dealer will need the receiving FFL dealer's info prior to shipping. So, you will need to get that information before you goto NV.

If you are going to try and get a NV FFL dealer to ship a firearm to a CA FFL dealer, the NV FFL dealer needs to be registered with CA DOJ. Not many non-CA FFL dealers are willing to register with the CA DOJ. Between shipping and FFL transfer fees between the two FFL dealers, expect to pay an additional $150-300.

Thanks for the info, and this may be confusing in the original post, but this is not for me. It is for my cousin who is just getting into shooting, and the lucky bastard lives in Vegas. I know rifles, and where to look to buy them online, but know jack all about Nevada out of state transfers and who I should take him to. Any thoughts would be most helpful.

Henderson Defense Industries - Ron or Doug should be able to help you out. You can find them in the industry section or one of the many posts in the nevada home town forum!

bleek,

I second Henderson Defense Industries for the transfer.  I used to use Glen at bargain pawn but as I read on here he's no longer doing the transfers.  I would say the best place in town now is HDI and their prices are more than fair.

I don't understand why you would need an out of state transfer if he is buying in Vegas...
