I have a friend who is in need of an upper (preferably M-4 style) to finish out his one and only AR.  Any stores in the Vegas Valley have them far as you guys and gals know?  I guess the 2nd choice would be buying one online but I understand there's a massive backlog almost everywhere he's looked (not surprising).

Thanks in advance

The price gouging going on right now is absolutely insane.  I don't blame them though, its about time they can make some good money I guess.  We brought this upon ourselves I guess.  I'm trying to build another M4 style from scratch right now and I'm having a ton of trouble.  I've been buying some small parts, but I think I'm going to wait this out or else my $1K build will turn into $2K quickly!

The most competitive prices I've seen (with inventory in stock) are the mom and pop shops online and on gunbroker.  Even on the online auctions thoguh....$100 lowers are selling like hotcakes for $250+.  There was even a guy on here in one of the other sections bragging about buying 3 lowers at a gun show a few weeks back for over $600.....

Its nuts!!

From what I've seen in the EE with the dealers all are sold out and on backorder unless the pricing is nuts. I'd wait a bit before I bought an upper.

Just order it from Legal transfers just to get your name on the list.  Of course, you'll have to wait it out though.

Tell your buddy to check the EE regularly.  That's where I found mine (sans the gouging).

I'm worried about the same thing for my battleborn lower. I want to build a coyote gun out of it, but with all of the shit going on lately (nationally and personally) I'm just going to put it on the backburner

I agree,

It's very, very sad that it has come to this.

Last year (when most of us were shopping on a full stomach) quality uppers and lowers (stripped and complete) and miscellaneous parts were going for an affordable price. Now it is absolutely insane.

All I keep seeing is "Out of Stock, No Backorders, Get on our e-mail list and we will let you know when (if) this item becomes available." I guess we should have gotten when the gettin' was good. At least I have acquired some items that I wanted over the years (and I still don't have everything that I want or need). Some people just don't know how to navigate certain issues in certain times (and I stand guilty as charged in that regard).

I still have several projects that I would like to get done and like a bonehead I put off those projects because I thought certain items/parts would be available when I was ready. Well, now I'm ready and this crazy buying frenzy has driven prices up so high that those few simple projects that I wanted to complete have become ridiculously stupid and out of control.

All we can do for now is strap in, put our heads in our laps and grab our ankles.

Oh well, it is what it is.

Be Safe.

I'm sure I'm dreaming, but what I'm hoping for is that since everything that everyone had in stock is out, hopefully the manufacturers are steppingup production tremendously.....after a while this wll flood the market with parts and when this all blows over the prices will be back to normal.  Hopefully it happens fast cause I want to finish my builds!!!

I think the new admin has much more on his plate for the first few years with the economy going down the tubes and wrapping up the wars, etc to worry about what I have in my safe for a while.
