I am seriously thinking about going into LE. Any LEO's here know how to set up a ride along?
Few months ago some guys offered to help me out but I have since lost contact with them. Thanks in advance. Matt. |

I went with a local leo on a ride along. Kinda did it on a whim when he said that I wouldn't believe what they see in one night.
One of the best things I have ever done. While it wasn't Dirty Harry, I got to see alot of how you need to be very in control of your emotions. People say the dumbest shit. Even when they know other people are around. If my next job turns out bad, I am joining for sure. |

You should start applying now. The application process can run a couple months and if you do get selected you can look at waiting a few months for your academy to begin.
Having military experience will definitely help for the application process. Metro awards some bonus points for it to actually move you up the eligibility list. But it helps immensely when it comes to the academy and understanding how to function in that kind of training environment. |

People talk about donuts, but none of the Dunkin Donuts are even open late or 24 hours. What a waste!! Have you seen the N-town hookers?? What cop would won't to even talk to those crack hos!!! If you want more opportunities, a better work environment, and a better overall dept., you can just look at the largest LE agency in NV

DUI unit? WTF is that? Sexual Assault? Looks like we'll be sitting at UMC for a while... you tag it, you bag it in North Town

as far as the ho's go.... I got nothin... ours are pretty frickin nasty. I never mess with them. What the Johns are going to catch from inserting in that filth pit is WAY worse than anything I could do to them... they're on their own. $5 and a beer is the cheapest I've seen. (Steel Reserve goes for $1.11 around these parts... yep, you did the math.. That's $6.11 for "EVRY-TING YOU WANT") she was pretty mad when I asked her if she had any dope on her and she realized she forgot to pull the bag of weed out of her snatch before she let ole Johnny Boy go to town Deep down, I bet you wish you would have tested for the right department the first time around

DUI unit?? Nope, except for the guys that help out filing the cases. Sexual assault will only come out for real cases..... which are rare. I would rather see guys learn how to manage a case than just shove it off onto someone else. Granted, the paper capers can be too complex and time consuming. Testing for the right dept.?? I did
Actually, I tested for the major ones in the valley. Had offers from every single one. HPD and Noftown delayed their academy by 2 mos., so I went to the better agency

| Is there anyone that could get me in on a ride along? I would go down and sign up but the problem is that my schedule and days off arent the same every week. Also how many can you do? Im testing for LE in a few months and would really like to get a feel for it. |
