Need I say more.............
Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, Arizona still believe in freedom. What happened to you Nevada? Maybe now Michelle Obama can afford a decent wardrobe consultant. WTF is she wearing? |

We aas a party need to wake up. Most sheep don't vote based on character, issues, beliefs, etc. We vote on who we think is hip or cool or handsome or fun to hang out with.
We need to get away from the crusty, rich old white man stereotype. You mean to tell Republicans can't come up with one quality candidate that is in their late 40's or early 50's that the average sheep would think is cool? |

The Republicans lost because they failed to embrace conservatism. I am not a republican, i am a conservative. They lost me when they allowed guys like McCain and Guiliani to be the face of their party. They lost me when it was implied that Lieberman might be VP. They lost me when they worked against my country on issues like trade foreign trade, oil dependence, illegal immigration. Then at the last minute, they tried to woo me with a Hottie from Alaska that likes to shoot. I voted for mcCain not because i liked him, but because i DISLIKE Obama. Give me a candidate to be excited about and I'll make things happen. Age, color, religion are irrelevant. |

Gunmonkey, agreed.
They out Lib'ed the Liberals. And then they tossed up a shit candidate and a hot lady.. and they lost BIG. THEY left US behind. Now they will suffer for it. We can only hope that Obammy does not listen to the wise words of Bubba and overreach in his first term. THAT is why the republicans took control of the Congress. He overreached with his Health Care and AWB... and it cost the Dems the House and senate for 14 years. Sit back and watch the SHTF guys and gals. |

Biggest factor in my opinion––the economy. Had the election happened 2 years ago, could have been a different outcome. X-ring Mr DBailey, As I approach my 7th decade I have consistantly seen America vote it's wallet, never it's conscience. That to me is a direct window into the personal greed which we as a nation seem to exude. As a people, we seem lost in a world which is not moving to our version of reality, fun thing that. If I ever had any doubts, now I know I will finish the game a pessimist rather than the optimist I began life as. |

I disagree. No one, except maybe some ethnic groups, voted FOR Obama, people voted AGAINST Bush Jr. and by association, the Republican party. When things are not great, everyone thinks it's the President's fault and that a different kind of president will fix all the problems in their lives. Such is not the case. Now they will see, first-hand, that is is not the case.
It is easy to say in HINDSIGHT, that we coulda shoulda woulda done this, that, or the other, but the only thing that would have changed the outcome is for us to have gone back in time, and made sure Bush Jr. was not elected in the first place. People just don't like him! And the fact that so many democrats were elected to other positions proves it. And let's face it, often, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. But sometimes it does. Bush Sr. was as sharp as they come, and we all hoped his son would be the same... But soon the sheep will see that it is easy to promise the world, but much harder to deliver! |

I voted for McCain, but the Republicans shot themselves in the head on many occasions, too many to count. When McCain voted for the pork laden bailout he sealed his fate. The bailout should have not happened, and it along with the failure to follow the conservative principles cost them the election.
We need to steer the republicans back to these principles. We also need new people to run for elected spots and to run on these principles. One person that comes to mind is Doc Ron. If he will consider it. |

We are all watching the worst decline our country has ever seen. It will be 50 years or more for our nation to recover from the election. It will be like another Jimmy Carter, only worse.
But on a good note Proposition 8 passed in California so all the Homos and Lezbos are crying. |

Don't worry, gays and lesbians hate "breeders" also. They aren't an ethnic group. eta: if you research the history of the KKK, the Democratic Party was closely aligned with them Well, I'm sure plenty of democrats hate gays, too. Republicans just seem to make a sport out of it. ;-) I just don't think hate has any place in Christianity, and hate-based legislation has no place in America. I do admit, however, that I disagree that homosexuals have a right to be married in church, or even be recognized by the church. I simply don't believe they do. What I believe they do have a right to, are the legal benefits granted to all married couples. -Caver |

I've got to say the topics on this board in the last weeks and even now sound more like a KKK rally than anyone trying to pitch Republican Conservatism. John I agree. The libtards and Democrats just love to paint the Republicans as racist white boys, and often, we seem more than willing to oblige. I always like to ask my commie...oops I mean liberal friends which party freed the slaves........ |

I just don't think hate has any place in Christianity, and hate-based legislation has no place in America. Might the destruction of two cities full of gays be a good example of hate? I seem to remember reading about that in some christian literature... Yeah, God really took no prisoners in the Old Testament, eh? ;-) The New Testament is a heck of a lot less "fire and brimstone"... Though if you were suggesting that Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed due to homosexuality, that was hardly the case. Those cities were destroyed due to pride, arrogance, sloth and gluttony. They were xenophobes, who would rape foreigners––male or female––not for sexual gratification but for power and humiliation. In other words, they exhibited all that was considered evil by God, and turned a blind eye to the Lord even when he tried to redeem them. Homosexuality is certainly called out as a sin in the Bible, but not in the context of Sodom and Gomorrah. Those cities weren't destroyed due to hatred. They were destroyed out of exasperation, if anything. -Caver |
