+1 Shooting upside down on your back, shooting at moving targets, shooting while using cover, shooting while kneeling and while using cover, shooting with your weak hand, shooting while backing up, shooting through open windows/doorways, shooting while avoiding hostages/friendlies, and shooting on a clock. Had a blast! I did not think the wait time between turns was too long. I plan on making this a regular activity. |

SilverState, is that a regular event that they do at DSRPC? I have been a member of IDPA and DSRPC for few months now, but have not tried IDPA. I would love to try. Do you have to start with a local IDPA group here in Vegas? Or do you just walk in when they have a match (beginner)? |

ADOR, Just show up. They don't have a beginner match. They'll place you with beginners and some experienced people during the match so that they can show you the ropes. Here's the LAS VEGAS IDPA website so you can check out the schedule. Unfortunately, I couldn't make it today. Sounds like they have some great stages. |

Yeah, today was my first match. I just showed up and shot. I also looked at the rules so before I showed up so I would not bring the wrong equipment. The only thing that was unclear from the rules is that you can have hicaps, just download them to 10 rounds for the event. They want you to have to reload when it is not preferable, kinda like a real life situation. Also, about a hundred rounds of ammo should do the trick. Oh, and a cooler with water or gatorade couldn't hurt... |

SilverState, I used to shoot the IDPA matches quite a bit a few years back. They are definitely a great way to spend a Saturday morning. My ankle has started to heal so I'm just starting to get back in the saddle and shoot some matches. I can't wait to shoot IDPA next month. Good people and a good time. |

Ernie, You will be pleased to know that I was complimented on my "presentation", and I learned all that from your LMS Pistol 1 training. No more Danny Glover draws. Although, I gotta work on the on handed shooting under pressure and it couldn't hurt for me to get into better shape so I can run around a little quicker...lol |

Awesome Ravi! I'm glad you had fun and put some of that stuff we did to good use! Applying skills in a competition environment adds a whole new dimension and put you on a path to a greater level of self awareness in regards to your skills. It's a heck of alot of fun as well. Did you run one of those J.B. relics? |
