Some of you may know I'm trying to sell my AR. Well, after a month I haven't had a single nibble. I realize the economy isn't all that great, but I'm wondering if there's something I'm doing wrong. (Besides not GIVING it away) I'll be the first to admit I don't know SQUAT about AR-15's, but I went to the L.A.R. website and that gun alone runs for about $1,200. I'm asking $1,100 with 15 magazines and a Galati carrying case. Am I just not being patient enough or is there something else I'm missing? Thanks for any insight you can give. P.S. I've tried every trick I've ever heard of on Craig's List and keep getting kicked off. |

First, be prepared for this thread to get locked. Second, if the price was right you would have sold it by now. The rifle is used. That makes it about 80% at best. Accessories don't sell well used in my experience so figure them to be around 50%. $1200 rifle $150 in mags $75 case. Best case scenario puts this thing right around $1000. I would try for the $1000 but I would expect $800. You might try parting it out. Sell the mags and the case as separate lots. If you have to separate the upper and lower of the rifle. |
+1 No offense, but it is only worth what someone is willing to pay. It is probably the most unwanted configuration that I have seen in years, but DPMS is notorious for releasing those guns. $700 for the gun. Mag and case for an additional $100 if new and wanted. TOTAL maximum if desired. Sorry, just my opinion... V OUT |
I edited and took the link out, he is new so I cut some slack. ALBOB, we can't advertise in these Hometown Forums at all or put links to for sale ad's that are in the EE. Just so you know for next time, thanks. |
I am trying hard to figure this all out - I understand the issue with this post but... It is getting a little confusing as to what is allowed to be advertised in the HTF's and what is not. Some folks are allowed to advertise and some are being told to stop. Looking for a little clarification is all. Thanks |
Sure, first tell me who is allowed to advertise. |

Oops, sorry folks, I had no idea I couldn't put that link in there. Won't happen again. Yeah, I completely understand it's only worth what someone's willing to pay for it. Also understand the unusual configuration. What I don't understand is not even one offer. What happened to haggling? I'm willing to take less, but somebody has to make an offer. ![]() I think I'm gonna try Gunbroker and/or gunsamerica too. |
| ALBOB, the economy sucks. Lots of folks are getting foreclosed on and those who aren't are holding onto their money for fear it is only gonna get worse. Maybe wait till it gets rolling good again or until there is a panic over which gun grabber is getting into the White House. |
Now THAT is what I'm thinking will happen very soon. Luckily our pal Ralph Nader has decided to throw his hat in the ring again. That should help McCain out a lot. (Not that I'm a huge McCain fan, but he's a Hell of a lot better than the alternative.) |
Well I went back a little and archived about 5-6 advertisements from the same individual, but I do not want to post them for everyone to see because I am NOT looking to start trouble, but instead looking for clarification. Are all the HTF members operating under the same rules or do special rules apply to certain individuals? If so could you clarify why? Thanks. |
Carlie, IM me the threads or the username. There is no selling in this forum, PPE members can post training announcements if they wish. |
