Any recommendation of person/place to qualify new guns to be added to CCW?  What additional paperwork/procedures that I must follow to add more guns to my CCW?

Thanks for all replies

Which part of NV are you in?

When I added to my CCW I went to a local range here in Vegas and qualified.  Didn't cost me anything more than the range fee and when I was done shooting for the day they handed me the CCW paperwork to take to Metro....  Pretty easy/painless really.

I'd talk to Joe (Ishoot2live) here on the board. Send him an IM.

Just go to any local gun range that has ccw qualified instructors.... Discount, American Shooter, Center Mass, The Gun Store (if you are in Clark County).... they will give you qualification form.... bring the signed qual form to Metro's CCW Detail along with a $25 money order/cashier's check and they will add that weapon to your permit.

Now.... if you have a revolver already on your permit, you can re-qualify with that revolver at the same time and then they can add the 'revolvers authorized' clause on the back of your permit.

Thanks for all replies.

More questions:

1. Do I have to bring the new guns to metro ccw or just the signed qualification and blue cards?

2. Do they accept any other form of payment (i.e. cash, personal check) beside money order/cashier check?

3. Will they issue the new updated permit on the spot or do I have to wait for it in the mail (if mailing, how long?)?

Just an FYI, they won't let you in the building (at least the one on Cameron in Vegas) with the guns or any other guns already on your permit.

And, they have the capability to give you the new permit showing the newly added guns on the spot, they just won't (unless you saw my saga posted here).

And while you're waiting for 3 friggin hours for the process, don't forget to play "Guess who's a stripper getting a work card".  It passes the time.

I always wondered why all these women were getting their CCWs. That explains it.

The last time I was there to add to my CCW it took about ten minutes total time there. The planets must have been aligned that day.

Of course, then it took over a month to get my updated CCW permit. Something about computer problems?

Thanks for the FUNtastic advice.  I'll try to do it toward the middle of the week (maybe Thursday) and hopefully I don't have to play that game for long.

Update: Discount Firearms will charge $10/gun for CCW qualification in addition to range and target fees.

I went and added 2 more guns (same make, model & caliber) to the permit.  The instructor at the range qualified both of the guns.  The (very friendly) lady at CCW division told me that qualification is make, model & caliber specific, which mean I do not have to qualified with each individual gun.  For example, if I am going to pick up the exact same gun (different serial ofcourse) that is listed on my permit, then I do not have to go thru the process of qualification and addition of the gun to my permit.

I forgot to ask her if it's ok for me to carry the newly added guns or I have to wait (up to 2 weeks) for the new permit to be legal.

by law, you must possess the permit that lists the firearm you are carrying.
