if a nevada resident has a nevada and utah ccw, does that mean he/she doesnt have to add various guns to their nevada ccw? for example, nevada requires each gun to be qualified and added to the existing ccw...and of course the $25 each time something is added; suppose you want to ccw something that isnt on your current ccw..could you say you are ccw'ing on your utah permit and get away with it? i mean really, $25 each time you want to add...that can get costly if you cant make up your mind. |
| No. As a Nevada resident, you're required to have a Nevada CCW to carry here. That being the case, any semi-auto you wish to carry here needs to be listed on your Nevada permit. If you have a blanket revolver qualification listed on your permit, then you can carry any revolver you want without a separate listing. Your permit needs to have the "revolvers OK" or similar verbiage on it for that to happen. |
In Nevada, if you have one or more revolvers listed on your current permit before October 1st, 2007, you must qualify/requalify with a revolver in order to legally carry ANY revolver. After qualifying and filing the range certification form with the CCW Detail you will receive a new permit saying "REVOLVERS AUTHORIZED," along with any semi-autos you already have listed. If you decide to add other semi-autos at the time of filing the revolver addtion paperwork, those semis will also be listed. The above also applies to first time CCW applicants. Hope this helps. ETA: If you plan on adding other guns to your permit, the best thing to do is wait until you have as many as you want to add and then qualify with them all at once. You also have up to one year to file the paperwork. |
