I was wondering if any of you folks would be interested in having a get-together at Desert Sportsman’s for an Optic show and shoot. We could compare different models and their respectful application out in the field. I would love to see an EOTech M557 show up  |
Sounds great. I can also bring out the AR maintenance kit if people need a courtesy headspace, muzzle/chamber erosion, firing pin protrusion, barrel straightness check, etc. Trijicon, Aimpoint, Kahles, US Optics, Schmidt & Bender and Leica Geovid - Can't remember the specific models. V OUT |

You show up at 1300 and by then I will have Wolfpacks AR50 all warmed up  j/k if 1300 works for everyone then 1300 it is. |
Everyone in the NVHTF is "one of the gang" until Wolfpack bans your ass! and its attending events like these that makes you one of the gang. Anyways - if everyone intrested could sound off regarding the date and time working for them we can put that issue to bed. Thanks |

Ok, Sat., Dec 15 @ 1300 hours it is then. If we plan to shoot any of the scopes, perhaps we should park some gear at range 5. that way we will have a decent rifle range to work with. I will put the 10 power IOR on an AR I just re-barreled. If you want to shoot it, bring 5.56 factory ammo. 1:8.5 twist polygonal, with a heavy contour. Lem |
Good idea - Just to clarify, this is not an "Event" I am going to be there at the time and date posted, if 4 of my "friends" decide to meet me at the gate at that time I will escort them in. Other "members" can be there on time and escort in their "friends" who meet them at the gate at the given time/date

I'm getting ready for this. I just ordered the Prince bipod and monopod for the AR50, right now it sits on a Harris and it is buckling under the weight of the rifle. Hopefully I'll have it in time. I also am having a Leupold 3x10 sent to me for my Win Mod 70 .308 Heavy Varmit with an Anschutz trigger, I'll get some Leupold rings and should have that at DS to shoot. |
Another thought. After this get together maybe we can set a date in Jan/Feb and make a competition out of it. We couldn't do it at DS but any place where we can shoot a long distance (lake bed) and set up either targets or poker chips stuck in a 2x4's and have a target rifle challenge, anything either .223 and up or .308 and up. I vote for Sand Springs dry lake.

Wolfpack: Since you are coming, I will bring the Henry Bowman pistol for ya (50 Beowulf). I will bring a couple of targets / stands as well. As for the competition, we could do it at DS as long as everybody becomes members... come on folks it is not that hard, and it is only 100 bucks a year if you participate. I am always concerned with sending 50 bmg downrange in a place with uncontrolled access like that lakebed. I prefer to have a large solid backstop, and a confirmed & controlled impact area. Lem |
Thanks Lem. On the lakebed shoot my idea would be to shoot from the lakebed into a hill or mountain, not shoot towards the middle of the lakebed.

Tried my new Thanksgiving day Armalite upper today... that's coming with a 1 x 4 Leupold in a "Colt" B-square mount... .223 The Remington VSSF with the Mark4 16X .308 Maybe something else, who knows. 10/22M - .22Mag with a Redfield EDS  Officially requesting guest status.

Yup you may be right - I ahve already been warned about that very thing. If we are going to relocate it to another location lets do it soon. Any ideas??? |
