UPDATE: Due to the overwhelming response to this course it has reached it's maximum capacity as of 17February07, and it has been closed. Hopefully another course will be scheduled for sometime in late March, or April (I'll make another post when another course is available). On behalf of myself and the instructors of CKIUSA, I would like to thank the females from the Nevada Hometown Board that have already signed up for this course. PLEASE NOTE: I have spoken with both instructors (Punong Guru Bill Garness and Eric Cruz), and they do not want the female participants that have CCW permits to feel that they cannot bring their firearms. This is because they do not want their students to leave their guns in their vehicle(s) unattended. Therefore, if you will be attending this course you are welcome to bring your firearms into the Dojo. Upon your arrival please advise the instructors that you have a firearm(s) and they will secure and store your firearm(s) at the facility until you are finished with your training. Once again, I would like to thank all of the females that are attending this course. Be Safe. Joe *********************************************************************************************************** Dear Friends, A good friend of mine will be conducting a six week, Women's Only Self-Defense course starting Saturday, March 3rd, 2007. The course runs for six consecutive Saturdays from 1:00 pm till 3:00 pm. In six weeks students will learn how to take care of themselves and get in shape at the same time. This is not just a Cardio Kickboxing class. Participants will learn Boxing, Kickboxing, Ground Fighting and Self-Defense tactics. All of the instructors are current Police Officers or former Police Officers. This course teaches what the professionals use in real world life and death encounters. Total cost for the course is $60.00. That is only $5.00 tuition per hour! If any females are interested please contact: Punong Guro Bill Garness or Eric Cruz (after 4:00 pm) Filipino Mixed Martial Arts (702) 871-8883 E-mail: [email protected] www.ckiusa.com Tell them you heard about the course from Line of Fire, LLC. Be Safe. Joe |
I hope your schedule will allow to make all six Saturdays. It is a great course taught by skilled instructors. They are the Line of Fire, LLC of Martial Arts. |
my schedule is good to go.. Sounds like a good class to get into and I have been wanting to do something like this since we had the CCW class last May. |
Although I have never trained with Eric in Mixed Martials Arts, I have heard nothing but good things about him. He did go through one of my firearms training courses, and I am here to say that he is one intense guy that is very skilled at what he does and he is very personable. To look at him one would never know his background and depth. I know that he and Bill will conduct a great course for the females that attend. I would trust my life to either one of them. And that is not fluff. I hope your wife and other females on the board can make their training. |
That's great, Feisty. You will be in good hands. |
I signed the wife up around 10 am this morning, and he said there was 12 already signed up!
|
yep..he told me he might have to do another class cause there was so much interest.. |

| Thanks for posting this here, Joe. I took my wife to this, and I actually stuck around (with the two kids) to spectate. They weren't kidding that the class was full, but everyone seemed very eager to learn. There were teenagers to older women in attendance, all of them executing palm strikes and heel stomps. Very cool stuff. |
Yeah, chiz was skeered of all the crazy, sweaty, punching, kicking, stomping wimminz.... he hid behind a wall the whole time. You'd just see his head peek over the window every once in awhile. BTW, your wife is a sweetheart, and you have two of the absolute cutest little girls I have ever seen in my life. |
|
Chiz..your girls are adorable. I am pleased with the class. Bill even mentioned an advanced class that might be to my liking a little later on. But for now I get to beat up on a couple guys for fun and really learn a lot of stuff that you might not think of on a day to day basis...lol (Yes, They had padding on ) |
NP Chiz, I was very happy to announce this great class to our female members on the board. They couldn't be in better hands than with Bill, Darin and Eric. I train a lot of women with firearms, and after my training they become very proficient with their carry guns, but I have found that most of them have no fighting skills. That's why I thought this class would be ideal for the women on the board. Guns and hand and feet fighting skills. What a great combination. I am pleased that the Gals are enjoying themselves. Just wait, there is more outstanding training coming up during the next several weeks. Be Safe. Joe |
I don't know about Bed-Head, Fiesty or Chiz's wife, but I found out I have muscles I didn't know about. Hopefully, you aren't as stiff and sore as I was this morning. I am heading to the gym after work on Monday. It was nice meeting all of you. The class was great and I am looking forward to next week. Tricia |
I'm glad I'm not the only one. I'm sore and stiff in muscles I've long forgotten about... not to mention all the bruises. You and Fiesty must've thrown me down one too many times. ![]() I'm going to have to start weight training again. And next week we'll have to go look for that special "rig" at the martial arts supply store.eta: What a nice surprise to walk into a place and not even have them blink when you tell them you're packing and need to secure your gun before starting. Too bad most places of business are like that. Of course... these are Joe's buddies.... |
I told them ahead of time that the students I was sending would be armed, and we all agreed that it would not be a good idea to leave handguns in their vehicles. Plus, none of us wanted the CCW holders to be unarmed while going into and out of the Dojo. They are all very supportive of our gun rights. I am glad that it worked out. |
Tricia..it was great meeting you. I am finding that my abs and calves are sore..I guess I need to start running and do something to supplement this work out also. I am lloking forward to the next few weeks.. |
I am going to go over there this week on lunch so I will let you know if and what they have. I think we may very well need them..lol They are great guys to train with. I actually don't feel like I may hurt them.. |

Hopefully, you aren't as stiff and sore as I was this morning. I am heading to the gym after work on Monday.
