If your backflow valve has "popped" due to the recent freezing temperatures, you can expect to pay >$350 to get it replaced by your plumber. I felt this was a bit expensive for a $70 part so I did some research. I found a repair kit for $49 shipped and will do the work myself, looks simple enough! Mine was a Wilkins 720-A Pressure Vacuum Breaker -1/2". If it is ok by the moderators, I'll post the link to the store (*no affiliation*).  edited to add: The repair kit consists of everything inside of the body and the bonnet (black thing on top) so you don't have to do any actual pipe work. |

I'm a plumber. However, we only repair these for people within the company.....we usually only do casinos, hospitals and industrial work. I was told that one company in town had over seven hundred calls on these things. There are several different brands and all of the supply houses are out of all parts for all brands. GO INTERNET, DO THE BEST YOU CAN .....GOOD LUCK |
