Sells guns now! that is all |
|
Absolute is a Public safety equipment store that's owned by one of NLVPD's Officers. Absolute Firearms (go figure) is also owned by another Officer and is inside the store. Right now, it's only two glass cases full... I'd say about 20 guns, but he has a Class 3 and can get pretty much anything. Chiz: Your address-fu is weak. They're on Craig and Losee now |
Maybe they're in an unincorporated part of the city thereby falling under the county? Back in Columbus, Ohio where I'm from, our best gun shop, Vances Shooters Supply, is able to operate around the city of Columbus' gun hating laws due to being in an unincorporated area. Thats good business sense. It would make sense for Absolute to start selling firearms since a copper can get everything else there. |

That's my only problem with them. They have a 5400 square foot store packed with stuff, but you seem to almost always have to order what you want because they're out of stock. It's wierd, really. RDP: did you see the new Safariland holster they had sitting out? it's a triple retention that can be upgraded to a 4 retention like the raptor, but it's going to be compatable with lights. |
| I have that same holster. I took alot of shit from people about it when I first got it. Then when we went to the range and they saw I could draw, and engage my M9 faster than anyone else with their cheap ass Uncle Mike's and Galls Specials, and the UM-84 "Death Flap" holsters what did you start seeing on people's hips before long? Safariland Holsters. |
|
there were a lot of people at the range that had this and ended up switching to something else because it wouldnt draw well. I'm just as fast if not faster with it than anybody else with a different holster. FWIW, the people that had problems mostly had sigs and I have a glock |
Each form of retention is a different level. You have one form, that is a level 1. You have two forms, that is a level 2...... and so on. |
yours is a single retention because it only has a passive retention (the strength of the holster holding the gun in) an example of a level 2 would be an OWB with a hammer strap mine is triple retention, which means that I have a hood (hammer strap), a molded piece that secures the slide near the breach, and I have to engage a button and rock the gun back to clear that second retention. My holster could conceivably have a 4th retention if I installed a thumb engaged lock on the hood. ETA: they're on the southeast corner of craig and losee (behind starbucks for you yuppies |

Went there today during my lunch break. Very nice, large store! Heck they even had AR bore brushes on the shelf, which was nice as I'd been to another store numerous times and came away empty handed. I didn't think their handgun prices were too out of line with the prices I see for the same stuff out on the broker. I hope they expand the gun side and get some rifle action going. Horay for a gun store in N. LV! |
