It could be worse, bro. My '84 Cherokee had the 2.5L four-banger coupled with that awful three-speed automatic transmission. I have a hard time accepting that my Ayatolla's 1.6L put more horses to the road than did the Jeep's 2.5L. The little four cylinder though would have been great if it had a manual transmission. Hell, I'd probably still have it now if it had. Oh well, C'est la vie, I guess. Good shootin' though! It's hell of hard to spot a rabbit, dismount with rifle and fire with company, let alone doing it solo. Mad props. |
do no such thing. absolutely NO sense in dumping good money into a 1500 dollar car! but ya, Do get some BFG all terrains or something, and spray paint the wheels flat black! that jeep is AWESOME for what you paid!!! I wish i had an Olive drab truck! now go beat the crap out of her. |

the white rims are kinda loud... but not bad. you can get black powdercoated steel rims for about $25 each... or if you hunt around, you might find some factory steel rims in gray. nice and low key. but the white rims work just fine. +1 for the BFG TA/ko tires. good all-round performers, quiet on the freeway, grip well in most conditions off road. available everywhere so if you ever have to replace ONE tire, you won't have an oddball, or have to wait for a matching tire to be ordered. of course, you could always spend $1,500 each on a set of dub-dubs!

Wlhen we lived in Truckee, CA, the wife had a '95 model and for the mostpart it was a good vehicle, except for the mileage. POOR!! Lucky to get 15 on the hiway. It had a Straight 6 with auto; alot of power, but no mileage. It served her well though, so couldnt complain. I would like to find a deal like this one, that I can take to my property in WA and leave; thereby having it there when needed. Dont need to drive the big 1 ton around for errands like groceries. |
