Dear Friends,

I have a lot to be thankful for, and that includes my friends on this board. Therefore, I would like to wish everyone and their families a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving.

On another note, I want to remind each and every one of you that while we are in the warm comfort of our homes on this day of thanks sharing fellowship and a warm meal, our brave men and women are far away from home fighting the good fight. For if it was not for our Troops we would not be able to share this very special day in safety, peace and tranquility.

I personally know (as many of you do as well) several people from this board that are on foreign soil putting their lives on the line for us, and as I type this message, my nephew (a United States Marine) is on the ground in Ramadi, and he will not be here to share in the joys and happiness that we are soon to experience.

Please, when you say your prayers before you sit down for your meal to give thanks, please include the men and women of our armed forces, because, if it were not for them we would have nothing to be thankful for.

And don’t forget to include our law enforcement officers and firefighters in your prayers.

God bless America and God bless our Troops.

Peace.

Joe

Thanks for the nice message Joe, and you're right on to boot.  Being away during the holidays really sucks.  This time last year I was enjoying my turkey dinner in the chowhall of a former Soviet bomber base supporting the GWOT.  Alot of people were down in the mouth but I would have rather been over there helping out than have my loved ones worrying about their safety back home.  The only bad part was that I got food poisoning and had to spend the rest of the day in the latrine.  Oh well.  Next Thanksgiving I'll be in Korea eating turkey in the chowhall.  Maybe without the mudbutt.

Best wishes to all the members of the board, everyone in the Armed Forces, home and abroad, may we all be with the ones we love together one day.
